I’ve just upgraded to All In One Pack Pro. I’ve made the upgrade on two websites with no problem but on the third, before I can set up the XML sitemap, I am asked to give the FTP username and password. The username field is already filled in using an old username which must be extracted from the database. This username with the correct password doesn’t work; the correct username and correct password doesn’t work. I recently re-imaged the server and re-imported the database information and so the database might be holding out-of-date information on this since the passwords had to be changed.

I’ve checked the username/password on Filezlla to check that they’re right. I’ve tried to find whereabouts in the database this information might be stored but have not succeeded.

Any ideas, anyone?

Thanks Steve,
The plot thickens. I’ve found the field in the database where the ftp info is stored: options/ftp_credentials; the data within it are correct. I’ve searched the whole database for the wrong username and password which keep popping up in the fields in the XML Sitemap page but they are not there. There must be somewhere else that they are stored but I can’t think where. I’ve also looked at directory permissions on the server but they seem okay; though, clearly something somewhere could be changed. A mystery. I’ll keep trying

Hello Steve,
Getting closer. I’ve got where the passwords are stored but it still isn’t working. It might be that since the server was re-imaged this website occupied a new directory alongside the first site. The first site is in the httpdocs directory and the new site is in a new directory at the same level as httpdocs. Maybe the plug-in doesn’t recognise where it is if the ftp delivers it to a level above the wordpress folder. Filezila will work with the new directory name added to the URL but it doesn’t seem to work in the XML Sitemap form. I think I’ll have to go back to the server and try to change some more permissions.
Thanks again for your help.

Here’s an interesting development: I was just called upon to update All In One SEO Pro and the update worked using the same log-in and password as won’t work in the XML Sitemap page. There’s a glitch somewhere.
