Hi

I have set Product Tags to index for the sitemap (seo on only these taxonomies – Product Tags is checked).  But I have 14 Product Tag archive pages that I only have created so that those products are picked up in customer searches my site. (they are nicknames for a dog breed and really shouldnt have their own page -> Yorkshire Terrier is the actual page-> nickname-> Yorkie (product tag). I have set these 14 individual Product Tag archive pages to noindex on the tag pages.  For some reason, these 14 Product Tag pages are still being submitted in the sitemap causing errors in my google console. -> Submitted URL marked ‘noindex’

Please advise how I can exclude these 14 pages fromthe sitemap so I dont get google webmaster error.  I want the other Product Tag archives to be submitted in the sitemap, but not the 14 that I have checked as ‘ no index’ (thought I had done it correctly)

um….- I want the other 116 product tags to be in the sitemap.  I just want to exclude the specific 14 that I have set to no index. Please read my message again.

Can you please advise how I get rid of the errors in google console ?   If I have those 14 tags indexed, they will be treated as duplicate content.

If I set the Yorkie ‘tag’ archive page to ‘Index’ and then I do a redirect from the Yorkie ‘tag’ archive page to the actual yorkshire terrier Category page, will that result in any seo penalties ?

When do you expect this feature request to be available?

Tags are being used exactly as a different way for finding my content.  Because customers search for nicknames, but I cant really add the nicknames in the product title as well as the proper name of the breed, I have to use tags. Because it is a nickname, it will bring back the same content as the proper name – that is the point of doing it, so that customers can find the same content if they put in the proper breed name or the nickname. I had totally excluded tags from the sitemap exactly for that reason – duplicate – But now I am using tags for another additional reason, because the search for another section was not bringing back correct results, but I need a way to exclude the tags that would be considered duplicate.  It always one workaround after another.

I will look forward to the update so these errors can stop. For now I will leave it as is, as I am guessing that 14 sitemap errors are better than 14 duplicate contents.

I see that a new plugin update has been posted, but it does not list this problem being fixed.  Can you please advise a time line for this fix being implemented.  I really dont like my seo plugin causing errors in my google console. If this is not to be fixed in the immediate future, I will have to look for some other solution to fix this.
