When I activated this feature I get this message

Potential conflict with unknown file /home/wishupon/public_html/sitemap.xml.

Potential conflict with unknown file /home/wishupon/public_html/sitemap.xml.gz.

then two boxes with a choice to \”Rename Conflicting Files\” or \”Delete Conflicting Files\” ?

I am NOT a techie person so I am not sure what this is telling me or what to do about it?

PS. I really need some templates or docs to help me on what I should be doing with this SEO Pack Pro. thanks

Hi All,

I just installed the pro version and i am getting the following message on the XML site page.

“Dynamic sitemap generation does not appear to be using the correct rewrite rules; please disable any other sitemap plugins or functionality on your site and reset your permalinks.”

I have already turned the small business SEO off and I also deactivated the free version of this product.

The message persists…. any suggestions?

Thanks,

RJay

Hi,

I’m having the same problem (2.1 Pro version).

Unchecking “Dynamically Generate Sitemap” will create the sitemap files, but how to make the dynamic generation work?

Hi Peter,

That’s correct, but it will not be created when dynamic creation is checked.

1: My permalink structure (day and name/not WP default) has worked flawlessly for many years, and I’m ranked #1 for my my name. I’ve got more than 1500 posts, and all randomly tested against Google webmaster tools are OK. Google Analytics is also without any errors for the site., as well as Google/Bing searches. So the permalink can’t be the cause, unless your dynamic creation actually requires a specific permalink structure…?
2: When a physical sitemap.xml exist AIOSEOP successfully renames it and creates the new ones (in static mode)
2a: When a physical sitemap.xml does NOT exist AIOSEOP successfully creates the new ones (in static mode)
3: What other plugins than sitemap manager are you referring to? I have no such plugin active – AIOSEOP is the only one.

As the static creation has no problem with file system access, there must be a different and undocumented requirement to execute the same read/write process in dynamic mode.

I’m using WP 3.5.1 by the way.

I’ve tested with only AiOSEO plugin active – same result.
I’ve tested with only AiOSEO plugin active and twentytvelve theme – same result.

The status is (as previously) “All in One SEO Options Updated.”, but the detailed message is the same: “Dynamic sitemap generation does not appear to be using the correct rewrite rules; please disable any other sitemap plugins or functionality on your site and reset your permalinks.”

An example from the log:” 2013-05-04 20:41:13 Successfully notified bing about changes to your sitemap at http://www.ross.no/…./sitemap.xml.gz”

This file does not exist in dynamic mode – only static.

I’ve used the Google XML Sitemaps plugin for a long time and it has never had an issue dymanically updating the sitemap, but I naturally want as few plugins as possible and would rather not switch back.

It appears the save in dynamic mode is using a different IO approach than the static one, as the dynamic is unable to save to disk.

Same behaviour with compression turned off, so there is nothing to test as far as browsing the sitemap.xml.

I’ve also tested the same on my local testbed running on Windows, whith exact same result.

Thanks for your update.

Clearing WP Supercache on production site did not change the problem, unfortunately.

I’ve uploaded system status from my testbed, where AiOSEO is the only plugin active, and dynamic creation of sitemap is still not working.

I uploaded the server config, but let me know if you did not get it.

Server: Apache/2.2.11 (Win32) PHP/5.3.5
WP: 3.5.1

No problem with permalinks / .htaccess.

I’ve tested with twentytwelve and only AiOSEO active on live site and tested – same result with both.

What’s become clear now is that although with twentytwelve the error is the same after click “Update Sitemap”, I’m able to browse the sitemap.xml, so why is the same error message being displayed, but with different result in regards to browsing sitemap.xml?

When I browse the sitemap.xml with Aperture active it displays a blank page – no errors.
