I’m converting a large site (12,000 pages) from HTML to WordPress, screen scraping content and posting back as new pages in WP. This will allow us to grow to 50,000 pages in the future….
So far we have about 8,000 pages in. Upload time on a page has risen from 0.5 seconds to 10 seconds. Page loads were painfully slow. With a debugging plugin enabled, page loads time out at 30 seconds. When I disable the plugin pages load in 1.5 seconds.
I had seen an old post on this topic about 10 months ago but no response. I haven’t seen any other indications.
What would cause this? Is there any sort of “resource hog” in the code that would impact a larger site vs a smaller site? I use the plugin on a site with just 100 pages and there are no issues. It is definitely size related. If there is a feature causing this, what would it be and can it be disabled while keeping the rest of the plugin live?
I am using the paid / pro plugin. I need the XML-RPC capabilities available with the paid version.
Any ideas what would cause this? What I can test?

I having a similar problem,
i have troubleshoot the site and it seams that AIOSEOP causing the slow-load of the site.
Whit the plugin active, it can take anything between 35 seconds up to 5 min until the site loads.
(sorry that the site is in Swedish but concept the is same)
You can see the load time in the top-center part of the page marked red and brown
When it is inactive the site works flawless
Any idea why this happen? or do you guys need more data from us?
