Hi there,

Just downloaded and added All in One SEO Pro to a smaller subsite while I get used to it Smile
Been using the free version for a while and think it’s great.

One general question please:

On XML sitemap settings is it best to allow and check Media / Attachments?
If I do, on what is a small site my site map is filled with:
http://www.mysite.co.uk/?attac…..ment_id=72 90% Daily 2013-02-07 05:59

If I un-check Media / Attachments then all that shows on my sitemap is the Pages and Posts which I ‘guess’ is better.

Any guidance on this would be great Laugh

My concern is we have a very large site that has loads of images and if i check Media / Attachments the sitemap will be huge.

Many thanks for thoughts in advance. Pete

Hi Peter,

The site is not a photo site or blog however it does have a heck of a large amount of images hence I wouldn’t want them included in the sitemap.

Every image has an ALT tag on the page and also in the media library and many of are images are on Google anyway.

So if I don’t check Media / Attachments is it likely Google will find them as they have been using your free plug in?

Yes I saw sitemap indexes and pagination as a setting thank you.

Sorry to ask what is I am sure basic questions. I have left SEO to luck in the past using your free plug in and all ‘seems’ to have worked well so far Smile

Lastly, Posts don’t show up on my Sitemap even though I have checked relevant boxes. Why is this please?

Thanks again, Pete

Hi Peter,

Cool, as long as Google still finds our images without Media / Attachments in our sitemap I’ll give it a go.

Sorted the Posts not showing, I had omitted something.

Guess I will have to see how I get on with the sitemap in the Pro version.
Used to the perceived control of ‘Google XML Sitemaps’ plugin where I could assign Priority and update last modification time.
Maybe my lack of total understanding in this area is showing, maybe those things made no difference.

All trial and error I guess, just don’t want to undo what I have while finding out what actually works and why.

I trust your sitemap is ‘way’ better than Google XML Sitemaps Laugh So will give it a go.

Many thanks, Pete
