With AIO Pro I’m hoping to get social media link previews to work right for our Wordpress site. The main problem has been getting facebook to grab the right image and description, but it does neither for the homepage, as seen here. The quoted description seen there now is not the assigned site description but comes from seemingly spurious metadata code that the AIO Pro “Scan your site for duplicate social meta tags” appears to flag. That code can be seen in the site‘s homepage source code, along with a spurious site title (“Home”) that facebook also uses. I cannot identify how that spurious code is being generated, so I don’t know how to remove it.

Question: How can I get facebook link previews to (1) stop quoting that wrong description and title, and (2) stop using the wrong site image?

I believe I have setting correct in the AIO Pro Social Meta panel. And it has positively affected facebook link previews for some posts, as for example here (that image is the default image I assigned via AIO Pro and I just uploaded). The problem seems to be the spurious code that facebook uses for the site title, description, and that probably also misdirects facebook from the default site image.

Thanks for any help that can be given!Smile

Thank you! Yes, it was an SEO feature in the Layers theme, which upon turning off removed the spurious code!Smile

Yet the facebook link preview still displays the spurious description and title even though their source code is now gone. But the correct site image is now shown.

Is facebook drawing the text (but not the image) from a cache file?

Fixed! Thanks! 🙂

A warning given is “Share App ID Missing.” Reading up on that, everywhere it’s described as “your Facebook App ID.” But who does ‘your’ refer to? The website’s domain owner or the person managing the site (that would be me)? And does the ID correspond to a fb account or to the website needing the ID or to a specific person like the developer who might use the number on several sites they manage?
