Hi – Hope someone can help with this. I have a Google+ account and have checked and double checked numerous posts and articles with no luck. If I use the Structured Data testing tool in Google Webmaster Tools I get the following message for all pages:

Cannot verify that rel=author markup has established authorship for this webpage.
First rel=author link from webpage: http://richardbrown/
Link (direct or indirect) from website to Google+ profile: No

I checked the header section using Safari Web Inspector and the Author tag generated by SEO Pro is rel=”author” http://RichardBrown instead of the expected rel=”author” https://plus.google.com/111568154613584065793  so I wonder if this is the problem  – if so how can I change the author tag to give an URL instead of just my name ?

Any thoughts or help would be REALLY appreciated !
Many thanks – Richardgoogle-verify-authorship.jpgImage Enlarger

Hi Steve – thanks for the reply but I have already done this. I have checked and double checked and re-read countless articles including the links you provided – all to no use. My email has been verified using the google verification and I have the check box next to the email in my google+ profile, the correct Google+ URL is placed in the field for All in One SEO and the correct web site is listed under the Contributor in my Google+ Account. I seem to have finished and checked all things I can find ( have also got a very clear headshot so the picture should be ok) but I still get the error message under the structured data testing tool.

Any ideas ? …….. or is the code rel=”author” http://RichardBrown the same as rel=”author” https://plus.google.com/111568154613584065793

Thanks and regards – Richard

Hi Steve – thanks again for the response.

Ok so the http://richardbrown is incorrect. So where did this come from and how do I change it ? As I mentioned in the first post this is something which seems to be placed by All in One SEO Pro so I have no idea where this has come from or how to change it. My understanding is that the url (or code) here should be my Google+ address which is entered into the appropriate fields under my WP Profile and the All in One SEO General Options – Google Profile.

Therefore if the correct address is entered into the appropriate fields which determine what address is pulled for the author how come I simply get http://richardbrown and not the correct Google+ address (account) ?

Hopefully it’s something very simple but I really don’t see what’s going on here and my understanding of all things computer are very very basic ! .

Many thanks – Richard

Ha – that’s it ! Thanks so much Steve ! Yes the field just had Google+ so I had my name there as the field 2 above asks for the URL so it was not clear that the Google+ field needed the URL. I just changed it and then went to the structured data testing tool and the authorship is verified. Thanks again – much appreciated !  – Richard
