Hello

I hope you can help

It seems as if my webpage is filled with “empty” media-urls – which damages my seo. Look at this example https://nogetiovnen.dk/?p=9985 or this one https://nogetiovnen.dk/flaeske…..-19-31-53/ or see attached screenshot.

I have around 20.000 of these empty urls and what do I do if I want them removed as individual posts? Google reads the url’s as if its empty content and it’s not good.

I’m anxious to set the media-setting to noindex, because I want my pictures to get indexed, but with a specific url.

What consequenses does it have, if I set media to noindex? Will the photos disappear when people search photos in Google pictures for e.g. or will they still be visible?

I hope you can give me some advice. I have read this article https://semperplugins.com/docu…..s/#noindex, but I can’t see what the preferred settings are concerning this aspect.

Greetings Gitte

Can I simply just choose this setting – in advanced?

Redirect Attachments to Post Parent

This setting will redirect media attachment URLs back to their parent post. If you embed an image into a post/page and link it to the Attachment Page then this will redirect to the parent post when a visitor clicks on the image.

I have set the “Media” settings to noindex in “default to noindex” -(se screenshot) I could read, that you preferred this setting, to avoid attached media-urls?

I have also read, that you don’t recommend to use the “redirect attachments to post parents” – is it correct?

How do I notify Google about the new settings now? Resubmit a sitemap or?

Hope you can give me some advice 🙂

Greetings Gitte
