I’m in the final stages of creating my website and am trying to make sure it works from am SEO perspective. The site needs to attract visitors and gather leads. I installed the All-In-One-SEO Pack and configured the main options page and the settings for each page. I then tried an on-page SEO analyzer http://seo-analyzer.org/ to see how I’m doing. Well the Title and H1 were not working correctly and dramatically lowering my overall score. So I looked at the source code for each page and tried to vary the settings to improve my score. In doing this, it seems to me that the ‘Title’ from your setting is not used as far as I can tell. I can’t see how the title and menu label are being utilized. The source code page title is the page title from my menu, plus my site title separated by a ‘|’.
Also, the ‘Menu Label’ doesn’t seem to change the source code either. I have a menu page called ‘ABOUT’ with lots of text describing my history. However my keyword for this page is handyman, and I want the H1 to be ‘Handyman’ even though it’s the page is named ‘ABOUT’. I thought the ‘Menu label’ it was supposed to override the page name. I’ve tried different things trying to see how that would work but it doesn’t seem to have any effect.
So I ended up changing my ‘ABOUT’ menu page title to ‘Handyman Profile’ so I could get the handyman keyword in the H1 and it worked, but isn’t how I’d like the page displayed. I just left the ‘Title’ setting empty as it doesn’t seem to make any difference.
Would you please explain how this works, and let me know what I need to do?
