We’re currently running a multisite Wordpress installation with a fairly large userbase. Some of the blogs on our multisite have upwards of 22,000 subscribers. Previously, we were using the free version of the Subscribe2 plugin and had no issues (even with the number of blogs and users we have). Since our admins really liked the free version of the plugin, we decided to buy the HTML version and upgrade our sites accordingly. Unfortunately, when we did such an upgrade, the HTML plugin ended up hitting the allocated memory size for our PHP servers and caused the blog sites to error out. Since then, we’ve had to deactivate the plugin and only enable it on a handful of “most important” sites. Any new sites that now try to enable the plugin end up error-ing out.
So my question is – do you have any plans to upgrade/optimize the code to work a little better with MU sites (whether as big as our or just in general)? Something to reduce the amount of memory it uses? We really like the Subscribe2 plugin and would love to extend the HTML capabilities across all our blogs sites!
