When I had the emails set to send whenever a new post was published, the emails sent fine. I’ve been testing with weekly, daily and hourly digests and they don’t seem to be sending. Any idea why that might be happening?
Will emails not be sent if there have been no new posts since the last email?
Also when I send a manual digest test to myself using {TABLELINKS} it shows the latest 5 posts. Is that standard? Can I change it to send only the latest 2?
Additionally, when I send myself a manual digest test email, the Subject Line that I have entered is ignored and instead it sends “[BLOGNAME] Weekly Digest Email”. Is this only for the test digest emails? I can’t test the real emails because whenever I set it to, for example, hourly digest and choose today, [the next upcoming hour], that hour comes and goes and no emails are received. I have tried receiving from both an email different from the blog domain and a gmail with no luck. Both receive the manual test emails when those are sent.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
J

I was able to change the email subject, thanks!
The weekly email digest didn’t send today as expected, even though there had been a new post.
Testing with hourly/daily/weekly digests have not been successful. When using the “send email for every new post” setting, those email do get sent out. Any reason you can think why this would be happening?
Thanks,
J

Hi Matthew,
Thanks, I got the cron working.
In regards to how many posts are sent in each digest, you stated that “The number of posts and links etc in a live post will be based on the number of posts you have made between digest emails.”
But this is not true. The latest 5 posts are sent every week even though only 2 new posts are being posted each week. Can I somehow limit it to 2 posts?
Thanks,
J

At this point the site is live and I don’t see how I can efficiently test plugin conflicts, create dummy posts and send dummy digest tests since there are already a number of users signed up to receive the weekly digest. I wouldn’t want to disrupt the weekly email schedule and live site in general.
If I set up a separate testing environment will my licensed Subscribe 2 HTML plugin work on a different domain?
Thanks,
J
