Hi,

I’m having issues with some of my HTML excerpt emails not displaying correctly. I can track the issue down to returns being added to the Email HTML source code about every 1036 characters. If this return is spaced between two characters that cannot be separated like an HTML comment, “<!–” , that comment displays instead of being hidden. In the source code, the return always has the following characters added before it “=0D”. This is not in my HTML Email Template. Below is an example of the source code that got messed up because of the extra return:

</div>=
<div class=3D"read-more-container" style=3D"padding: 13px 0 19px;"><=0D
 !--[if=0D
mso]><v:rect xmlns:v=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml"  xmlns:w=3D"urn:sche=

I have removed every extra space and return from my Subscribe 2 email template code. That helped, but the emails will still randomly not display incorrectly depending on where the extra returns added every 1036 characters in the email end up.

Also, I noticed with the last update there are facebook and twitter share links added to the emails which are not in my template. Can these be removed?

Thanks!

No, most definitely not from a Microsoft product. Built email in PhpStorm, pasted in http://premailer.dialect.ca/ to inline CSS then stripped out all returns using PhpStorm. The returns are not in the template. Can I forward you one of our emails?

Thank you for the code to remove social links!

Oh, I see what you are picking up on. The microsoft line above is code in the email template from buttons.cm It creates buttons that work better across most email clients.

PHPStorm is my IDE. I use it to code the initial email HTML before converting the code for email.

I put code copied from my Subscribe2’s email template here: http://www.unboxinteractive.co…..cribe2.txt

This is the source of an email generated from it: http://www.unboxinteractive.co…..source.txt

Whenever something breaks in the email design, I can narrow it down to where the character 0D appears in the email. For example, in this email, the link to “Terms and Conditions” shows up blue, instead of gray, because the color attribute on the “a” tag is split in the middle of the 0D character and a return.
