I’m trying to get complete posts to display in the weekly digest email however they contain […] instead. I’ve set it to “HTML – Full” thinking this was the setting that needed to marked.

I asked this question before on the free version and had to modify the core code to go beyond 55 words. I thought that the paid version would allow for this. Am I wrong or did I configure something wrong?

OK thanks I will try that. So what is the difference between “excerpt” and “full” in the settings?

@webmaster,

Which page are you seeing that on?

If it’s on the Subscribe2->Your Subscriptions page then it applies only to the email subscription of the currently logged in registered user.

If you are seeing it in the Subscribe2->Settings page it should be in the ‘Registered Users’ tab under the auto-subscribe heading so it applies to the default settings used for people when they register for the first time with your blog as a registered user.

Yes under the registered users page. Thanks for the info.

@webmaster,

The digest emails always try to use an excerpt to stop the emails getting overly long. There is a filter in Subscribe2 that allows you to change from the default of approximately 55 words. An example of the filter code you need would look like this (you would need to increase the number to something very big):

function my_excerpt() {
// return whatever number of words you want the excerpt length to be
return 30;
}
add_filter(‘s2_excerpt_length’, ‘my_excerpt’);

Any idea which file this is in? I did a folder seach for function my_excerpt() and nothing was found

May have found it:

function __construct() {
$this->word_wrap = apply_filters(‘s2_word_wrap’, 80);
$this->excerpt_length = apply_filters(‘s2_excerpt_length’, 400);
$this->site_switching = apply_filters(‘s2_allow_site_switching’, false);

in class-S2-core.php. That right?
