When I select to send emails at X per hour, and then send a batch. When do the first emails go out? Immediately? On the even hour (eg 12:00)?

I was wondering however since I have tried a couple small batch low priotity mails. My settings are 200 emails/hr. I am only sending 5-6, but they don’t seem to be queued for later sending. So is that because I haven’t hit the threshold yet? Eg. if I send a batch mail to 400 emails will it immediately send 200 and then que the next 200 for an hour later? Thank you for taking the time to reply!

If your setting with WPMQ is to queue all emails then even the 5 or 6 should queue. Are there any warning messages in WPMQ about the wp_mail() function already being plugged? Is the code you are using to send the 5 or 6 emails using the wp_mail() function or is it directly accessing the PHP mail() function?

I have it set to send to subscribe2 only so I can take advantage of the low/hi priority setting. I have not had any warnings and do not believe anything else is plugging the wp_mail() fn. The code I am modifying uses wp_mail(). I need to recheck things however since before adding the conditional check about whether wpmq was active it was putting email into the que. That’s probably where my problem lies, because all email seems to be bypassing the que.

I found the issue was with the conditional I wrote. Somehow the check wpmq got wrapped in odd characters so the whole thing bypassed wpmq. Having tested quite a bit today, all appears to be in the que and I notice it won’t send until the next hour which is great for testing where I can just purge the list before it sends.
