Hi, 

We are trying to install the plugin on our blog and are getting this error message: “WPMQ Error. The wp_mail() function already exists. This is likely to be caused by another plugin.”. Our hosting company’s engineers took a look at the problem and found the function is only used by WordPress as a core function but not a plugin. 

Here are the plugins we have installed: akismet, cloudflare, google xml sitemap, hrecipe, jetpack, nextgen gallery, pinterest pinit button, smart related post thumbnail, subscribe2, subscribe2 widget, tinymce advanced, w3 total cache, wordpress mail queue, wp-print, wp widget cache, ziplist recipe plugin.

Thanks, it was the Subscribe 2 widget that was causing the conflict.

The widget was legacy from something we did a while ago.

However, after installing the most recent update for the Mail Queue Plugin  I am getting the same error message again: “WPMQ Error. The wp_mail() function already exists. This is likely to be caused by another plugin.”

In addition, last time I only saw this on the English version of my blog and now I’m also seeing it on the Spanish version (both are separate WP blogs) – which worked fine previous to updating the plugin. 

Do you know if there’s something in the update that would cause the conflict? Everytime this fails my hosting company freezes all my outgoing emails and I really rely on the traffic I get from this emails. It doesn’t make sense to pay for a plugin that doesn’t provide any ROI.

We spent the whole afternoon deactivating each plugin one by one, clearing the cache, reactivating. In every case the error remains. Our host had already done a check on their side and said only the core wordpress code was using the function and should not cause the conflict. Any chance you can take a look at our config? We cleared other plugins and are running a standard version. We can share credentials for that time period and it could be a way to make your plugin resilient to this bug.
