404 when sharing?
*** SOLVED ORIGINAL QUESTION *** PROBLEM WAS WITH BAD FACEBOOK COMMENTS PLUGIN – NOT AIOSEO.

Question #2 – wish I could change thread title.
Also – anyone have experience with using AIOSEO + Genesis? I can’t get their meta tags to hide. I’ve got double meta tags now.

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

Genesis SEO Settings are still showing up in my Dashboard and tags are within my code. Genesis support says that they shouldn’t with AIOSEO active – “unless it’s been recently upgraded.” :-\ Any other ideas?

Also – How do I change the location of the meta tags in Genesis? They are kinda buried in my code. I’d like ’em right @ the top!

Hi Wae –

I looked at the source of your site. There are some metatags that appear near the top of the site. Those tags might not necessarily be coming from the genesis parent theme. It could be coming from your child theme or another plugin. You could try to turn all of your plugins off and see if they’re still showing up, and you can try activating the genesis parent theme to see if those meta tags are coming from the genesis parent theme.

Thanks!

I can try that later. They are definitely coming from Genesis, however – as I can make changes within Genesis SEO and they change in the code. Is there a way to just manually grab the snippet out of the child/main theme if that’s the case?

It sounds as though we’re dealing with an theme issue generated by either genesis or the genesis child theme. Since this doesn’t appear to be an issue with our plugin, we aren’t able to effectively troubleshoot it further as we are not familiar with what the child theme does with respect to SEO.

Understood.

How can I move AIOSEO up the page?

The placement of the meta tags in All-in-One is standard for most WordPress plugins. There’s no setting to allow the user to print meta values sooner in the header. You should be able to write a plugin that modifies the placement of the meta tags by changing the priority of the action:

add_action( ‘plugins_loaded’, ‘sfwd_run_meta_sooner’ );

function sfwd_run_meta_sooner() {
global $aiosp;
remove_action( ‘wp_head’, array( $aiosp, ‘wp_head’) );
add_action( ‘wp_head’, array( $aiosp, ‘wp_head’), 0 );
}

I sure don’t know anything about writing a plugin. Isn’t there another way I can just hack the theme / hard code it?

You should be able to add the following code into your child theme’s functions.php:

global $aiosp;
remove_action( ‘wp_head’, array( $aiosp, ‘wp_head’) );
add_action( ‘wp_head’, array( $aiosp, ‘wp_head’), 0 );

Note that this will only work for that child theme; if you switch themes, you’d need to add the same code into the new theme’s functions.php file.

From Genesis folks:

Can you ask the AIOSEO support folks what the name of the class is in the pro version?

Added this to the functions.php of my child theme:

add_filter( ‘genesis_detect_seo_plugins’, ‘my_filter_for_aioseo_pro’ );

function my_filter_for_aioseo_pro( $seo_plugins ) {
$seo_plugins[‘classes’][] = ‘All_in_One_SEO_Pack_p’;
return $seo_plugins;
}

Genesis devs said they will add this to the next version.

No more double posts – just stuck with trying to get the AIO meta tags to appear higher up. Based on my understanding, getting your meta tags up the page is helpful for SEO. (especially behind a bunch of javascript, etc…)
