Updated a site (http://cappellaromana.org)’s social settings to no longer duplicate the general settings, but still don’t see social seo options within the post, just the standard options. Any idea why that would happen if the social meta is activated?

Hi

I have the same problem but don’t know how to use the inspector in Chrome.  Please could someone talk me through what I need to do.

Here’s how it’s showing up on one of my posts.

Right click and select “Inspect Element” or in the settings menu go to More Tools -> Developer Tools.

Penny’s just dropped as to what the inspector is  – I use it all the time just didn’t know what it was called.  However, can’t find what’s causing the tab to vanish.  Have found the following code:

<div id=”aiosp_tabbed” class=”postbox “>

When I pasted this ibit of code from the inspector into this question just now it pasted all the missing social code.  So I know I’ve found the right bit but just don’t know how to get it to show.

Any ideas

Thanks

For me it was another plugin that was setting the hide class in the ul class “aioseop_header_tabs hide” to display:none !important; And so the tabs weren’t showing. So you might want to look deeper into that div and then look at any CSS that is setting things to display:none.

I agree but I’ve checked both the custom and theme CSS and can’t find the cause.  I’ve used the inspector but it’s not flagging up any issues.  So I’m at a loss as to what’s causing this.

I’m having the same problem. I found the offending CSS (It’s in the NIMVA theme) and changed it from display: none to display: block !important but it will not over ride the themes CSS no matter what I do.

When I make the changes in the Inspector in Chrome I can actually access the social meta tabs and make the changes I need to but of course once I refresh the page it’s gone (even though I put the same changes in my child theme CSS).

here is the code i’m using in the inspector to access the social meta tab…

.aioseop_header_tabs {
display: block !important;
}

.hide {
display: block !important;
}

I’m still having problems.  I’ve inspected the area where the tab should be and can see the following: <div id=”aiosp_tabbed” class=”postbox “>

I’ve then looked at all the CSS that’s affecting it but can’t find anything that might be causing the problem.

Next I deactivated all my plugins one by one and checked to see if any of these might be the cause but none appear to be the issue.

One thought is that I did have JM Twitter Cards plugin at one point and I understand that this can sometimes cause a problem. However, I deleted this a few weeks ago.  Is it possible that a bit of this plugins CSS is still lurking or does it clear down completely when deleted?

If its not this I’m struggling to know what else to do as I don’t understand any of the more technical suggestions above I’m afraid.

Please can someone help?
