I have posted a topic query on the wordpress.org when I should have put it here as a premium user. A test site is listed here.

https://wordpress.org/support/topic/page-reloads-with-active-engage-enabled-1?replies=4#post-6632001

If I disable either this plugin or Vcita active engage the page loads as it should. I have tried this on two computers and multiple browsers. It should not be a caching issue either.

Suggestions?

Really? So the pages don’t go white (blank) before completely reloading for you?

I have tried on two computers at my residence and three android devices on both dsl and mobile connections and it does reload.

Can you compare what you see on doublednetworks.co.nz with the production site accountwise.co.nz and see if you then see an issue with page loading?

I understand that you believe there is nothing wrong with AIOSEO however I would like your feedback once comparing the two sites.

Thanks for checking the loading issue. I also changed theme and its not that.

I take on board what you have said and are currently focusing on those at Vcita.

Thanks. Feel free to close this thread.

As this thread appear to still be open and potentially a continuation of the same issue as above, I thought it best to use this thread.

I have again discovered a page reload issue and it only happens when using mozilla firefox and either all in one seo pack and or the all in one seo pack pro.

I have disabled all other plugins and the problem occurs with either of the AIOSEO plugins activated. I can also activate all other plugins bar the AIOSEO and the site is fine.

Please check my production site using firefox before i deactivate the AIOSEO pro plugin.

I have also tested the issue using Opera, IE and chrome and I don’t experience the problem when using these browsers.

This issue is happening on all my computers and on my android. I also noticed other various mobile browsers appear to have the same issue. Chrome is fine via mobile. I haven’t tried opera or IE via android. Not even sure if there is a mobile version of them for android at this stage as I haven’t looked.

Note that; if I change the firefox doc frequency setting as shown below I can stop the issue happening:

type this into the address bar: about:config
type this into the Search: browser.cache.check_doc_frequency
double click on the browser.cache.check_doc_frequency line to edit it

info about the possible browser.cache.check_doc_frequency settings:
3 – only check if it seems outdated
2 – always use cached version
1 – always check for newer version
0 – check for newer version once per session

If I use option 2 (which is not ideal as it wont pick up any new site changes) instead of the default option 3 my site loads fine. So it appears my cache is okay but for some reason the browser is acting like I set it to 1 rather than the default 3 and fully reloads the page.

I cant have my site/s load like this so I need a fix asap or I must deactivate it.

I was actually in the middle of setting up W3 Total Cache (which covers the site optimizing issues you reference) when I came across this issue. My site, as far as unoptimized sites go, is reasonably fast, considering its on a shared server environment with 11 active plugins, one being Jetpack (which is like 25 plugins in one when fully active). I am pretty fussy and believe I have spend a lot more time than most testing and reading about numerous setups and what works best with what.

For example, because of this testing and research I know W3 Total Cache works better in conjunction with Wordpress SEO by Yoast. No if’s buts or maybes, it just does. Its well documented all over the show.

I have also noticed this page load problem on a few other mobile browsers, so its not just Mozilla Firefox. Its also now the second time that the All In One SEO plugin has been in some way connected to issues that I experience page load wise, so I may need to move to another SEO plugin (such as the above) if you cant replicate and find a solution, despite what you have said because the problem I experience stops immediately following deactivating AIOSEO (and or as I have previously mentioned in the Firefox options, moving from default to an impractical setting for normal every day users). The very next page load work perfectly when disabled, likewise if its enable AIOSEO again the page load issue instantly returns.

I don’t really see that I have any other options open to me presently. I would certainly like to make this plugin work for me however it appears that there is an issue with it from what i can see and if you cant find it, I see no option but to change if I can’t fix the issue any other way.

I hope this thread doesn’t find bias readers who can’t appreciate that this is actually a constructive view and not bagging out on, what I actually think is a pretty decent plugin. I know SEO wise it has worked for me and I have pretty much just installed it as it stated on the site. It works out of the box, I believe the site says and it does as far as I can tell. A number of our new clients find us with google etc and the site has only been live for about 12-14 weeks.

I disabled the plugin on my production site following your initial reply so you wont replicate from that site now. I was under the impression you were testing locally and as I said, I cant have my site loading like that.

I have been monitoring it with Pingdom for a few months and it has my site with average response time of 900ms. Now while this isn’t ideal, it is miles ahead of many other sites response times and is it in no way the cause of my problem.

Google has the site with about a 65% rating presently and I think yahoo has it around 40%. This improved when I used W3 Cache to around 75% with many things still to tweak. I expect I will get 85% or more when done. The page load issue was not altered by caching with W3.

My site generally loads within 2-3 seconds and many wp sites take 2-3 times that or more.

The account wise site is pretty fast and normally loads practically instantly to the eye.

If its not and it refreshes in any way, that is either the cache renewing DNS wise or there is an issue.

While cache plugins can and do speed up a site and lower the load on the server when setup right, they cant possibly fix the page load refresh issue i have with the AIOSEO plugins. The problem happens for me with both the free and premium versions.

I have since tested with Twenty Fifteen and Twenty Fourteen themes and they both clearly show the same issue. I have also tried Twenty Thirteen and Twenty Twelve and the issue appears less frequently but it still happens way more than it should, just not with every click, maybe every 4-5 instead.

My sites run the GeneratePress Premium theme.

Okay it appears the problem occurs when I have the UA-XXXXXXXX-X number in and activated with GA

The other GA related setting appear to not be associated to the problem.

I have also created a clone and set up a test site for you on http://doublednetworks.co.nz

Can I DM you a user name and password then perhaps you can see what you need too do to sort the issue.

You can load what ever plugins etc you want or do whatever you like to this test site should you need too.

There is a maintenance page active and I would appreciate that its remains activated unless it needs to be deactivated for testing.

Let me know if this will help and how i can get the user name and password to you if you want access.

I don’t want to confuse the issue however I thought it may be of interest to mention the following:

I have also been browsing around the http://semperplugins.com site and while it loads as it should in IE, when in firefox, opera and chrome the entire page reloads with every navigation click. The site goes completely blank (white) before reloading.

I don’t see it being cache related either, especially since I doubt I have ever viewed this site using 3 of these browsers. I should have only viewed it from chrome, being my main browser. Dropping cache etc doesn’t appear to make any difference whatsoever.

So why would it do the same thing on my 3 x android, 2 x windows and 1 x linux devices?

I fail to see how this is a local computer or browser configuration issue, especially when they are all default set.

Plus my site http://accountwise.co.nz only has this issue on these devices up until I deactivate the AIOSEO plugin(s). Once deactivated the issue is instantly fixed whether using the free and or premium versions of AIOSEO.

I would put money on the fact that if I could disable the AIOSEO plugin on http://semperplugins.com that the issue would also stop occurring on all my devices.

Unless you are telling me without saying that you don’t use the AIOSEO plugin on http://semperplugins.com and that is why its not related.

Please explain how you come to this conclusion? Clearly what i see, doesn’t add up to what I am hearing.

PS: I will also point out that the server I am using for http://accountwise.co.nz is practically on the other side of the world (Utah, USA) from where I reside in New Zealand. I would hazard a guess that http://semperplugins.com is fairly local to you in comparison so naturally it would be less likely to show you what I see from here, if it comes down to load times or similar. Also note that New Zealand has world class internet and on average speed etc is well above most other countries on the planet.

http://www.vedicgardens.com does the same thing. It is a massive amount heavier in background images etc than http://semperplugins.com but once it is finally loaded it appears that the behavior is identical and across devices.

Not sure how pingdom rates http://www.vedicgardens.com with a 77/100 when its 8.9mb and loads in 16 plus seconds.

I ran a geo location on both sites and see that http://semperplugins.com is located practically where http://accountwise.co.nz resides in Utah whereas Cary, North Carolina, United States is where http://www.vedicgardens.com resides.

Not sure if I would be so fast to conclude that and it doesn’t change the fact that if I cant find the issue, I must disable the plugin and or GA within the plugin as when I do the issue goes away. When you tried to replicate on my site, I had the plugin disabled.

There must be a connection somehow. http://www.vedicgardens.com could have any number of plugins issues etc making my browsers act the same way given how heavy the site is. I have also used Jamola and I found that it has all sorts of issues and why I have only ever used Drupal and Wordpress for production sites. Its like comparing cherry tomatoes with watermelons. While they’re both fruit, they look, taste and weigh completely different.

http://accountwise.co.nz is approx 1/16 the weight of http://www.vedicgardens.com and absolutely anything could be going on with it.

Why is this issue not consistent across all sites whether wordpress or otherwise if my issue is local? Why does it stop on http://accountwise.co.nz the instant i deactivate AIOSEO or GA setting within it? There must be some sort of connection.

Also the fact that the browsers that work fine with http://accountwise.co.nz even when AIOSEO is active, whereas in http://www.vedicgardens.com fail to load as they should indicates to me that the browsers are seeing another issue creating a similar outcome.

I will go and replicate the issue at other locations today, in about 3 hours from now, who i know use different ISPs and see if that makes any difference. Given previous tests though, I don’t believe it will.

I have also rerouted my connection through canada, netherlands, UK among other countries and the issue remains constant.

I have also tested on my test site using Yoast SEO and GA plugins and the issue is not occurring. This also tells me its not solely GA related which is what i need to disable in AIOSEO to get the issue to stop happening, if i don’t disable the entire plugin.
