Suddenly Google Webmaster Tools is showing that it is indexing only 126 pages, instead of the previous amount which was around 500. Tags are no longer indexed.

At the moment the sitemap is still generating that same error that I reported a while back.. “An invalid date was found. Please fix the date or formatting before resubmitting.”
The sitemap has been pending for about 3 days. Massive page amount drop which has dramatically affected SEO negatively. No changes on the site apart from a new blog.
Any thoughts?

I was wondering what was happening with that slash. I had asked a while back whether future versions would be able to specify meta data for tags, which is where I was seeing that issue. Does 2.1 implement this feature?
A bit of background… The site is linked to a homepage but the site is a bit weird (older theme) so there isn’t one specific page to go to, just a theme-generated page with multiple elements.
I enabled W3 Cache since the site has been loading slow for some time. Upon enabling the standard features I saw a massive performance boost (which was awesome) but seemed to cause other issues… Example being this thread. I believe that W3 Cache caused my site to suddenly get downranked by Google, possible due to crawl issues. It also at one point caused images to not load properly in our blog. I would venture to say that most of the problem is with our theme which I need to replace but is going to be a large weekend adventure which we do not currently have time for.
The end result of experimenting with W3 Cache for 2 days, then turning it off again… I was ranking 1 or 2 for ‘Louisville video production’ for my main page. Now, my tag (www.hatfieldmedia.com/tag/louisville-video-production/) is ranking #1, and my main page is ranking #18 (2nd page) for the same term. Would you recommend disabling tags in sitemap in order to begin ranking my main page back up?
Sorry for the long post. Thank you for giving me something to take to the theme dev on the ////// issue.

I will try WP Super Cache this afternoon. Was really just looking for a slight speed boost without going deep into server customization and the like. I am CERTAIN that a new theme will fix lots of issues.
In the meantime, do you have a suggestion as to how I can intercept that meta data on tag pages? I am considering editing the header, that way I will always have text appear before the meta on those social images. Right now it says “HM on Vimeo” “on Youtube” etc… I would really just like to put two sentences before all of that info! Atleast my tag indexes wont look so trashy.

Apparently they want to blame your plugin for the code issue. Any thoughts on a polite response?
For now I am altering the alt text on the first header image. That way I can atleast avoid the issue for now. I changed the G+ link to the full link. Do you have any thoughts on how to replace the default meta on tags? Maybe I am misunderstanding your suggestion.

BTW, I really hate to be a bother, but this issue is persisting… The sitemap will go into pending status for days, my total # of pages drops to something like 120 (instead of 500+). Still displays the same error. Any thoughts on when the next update will come out, or how I could participate in the beta?
