I am getting the message:

Note: you are using dynamic sitemap generation to keep your sitemap current; this will not generate a static sitemap file.

“Dynamic sitemap generation does not appear to be using the correct rewrite rules; please disable any other sitemap plugins or functionality on your site and reset your permalinks.”

sitemap should be being generated at http://goo.gl/XDO0pM

but nothing is showing apart from no page found… help anyone?

Hi ncheesman,

All of your permalinks are running through index.php, because of this permalink structure the sitemap that All in One SEO Pack is generating can be found here:  http://www.lastminutetheatreti…..p-news.xml

In general, it isn’t a great idea to set your permalinks like this.  If you can change them we’d recommend that you do so.

Thanks,

Nina

Many Thanks Nina for your prompt reply!

I was clicking on the link that says “view sitemap” which took me to the incorrect url… I guess dueto the permalinks…

“In general, it isn’t a great idea to set your permalinks like this.  If you can change them we’d recommend that you do so.”

What do you suggest and would this mess up any backlinks to the website if the url structure is changed? The permalink structure was (from memory) created in that way for seo purposes…

Hi ncheesman,

Our recommended permalink structure is /%category%/%postname%/, that’s the best structure for SEO purposes.  If you’re not interested in changing your permalink structure that’s fine, this is just what we recommend.  WordPress should be able to handle redirection when you make these changes, but it’s possible that changing your permalink structure could affect your backlinks.  If it does, you can use the File Editor Module to edit your .htaccess file.

Thanks,

Nina
